The only negative to this place is that it's closed on WEDNESDAYS! Haha Imperial Rolls are a go-to; wrapping them in the lettuce with all of the fresh fixin's, and dipping them in the sauce results in a heavenly experience for your taste buds! (Don't skip out on the use of the garnishes!) My husband loves the ox tail pho, and I always get the pho tai. The ghost wings are also amazing, but prepare yourself for the heat! Cuz they spicyyyyyy! Overall, this is the best pho restaurant in Santa Maria!

While apartment hunting in the area, a bubbling leasing agent recommended several local restaurants and this was one of them. My roommate and I were craving soup and warmth on a cooler evening here in Santa Maria and instantly remembered the rave reviews about this place from several locals. Upon walking in, there's a bright entry with a cashier counter, the menu on large tvs mounted on the right wall and several coolers for drinks. You are to order first then sit and eat. . After glancing over the menu I noticed their Pho Ga (chicken) is served with beef and chicken broth. I eat chicken and fish, but not red meat. I politely asked if I could have the chicken pho with the broth they use for their vegan and vegetarian menu and the cashier said that was an easy accomodation. I was really happy that they could make the substitution and that I could still eat what I wanted. We thanked the cashier and paid for our meals then turned left into the dining room. . It was lively for a Friday evening so we found a small table for two towards the back door past the bar. The soup was everything pho should be: warm, flavorful, filling, and phresh. I deducted one star because the broth wasn't as hot as I'd like, but I'm a heat junkie and a masochist so my standard of heat is high. I'm not completely sure if the restaurant is more casual in the sense that no one checked in and asked how our meal was and I had to go to the bar to ask for napkins and other knick knacks, but that didn't subtract from the experience. As winter approaches, I hope to visit Al Pho for all the warm and fuzzy feels.

It's common to take away stars when you review a restaurant again. So many things can go wrong It's uncommon to add them but here I am and I must give AlPho 5 out of 5. This is my go to place for pho AND for Asian combo plates. The Vietnamese food here is so good. I love it all. The textures, smells, meats cooked to order to perfection, the rice, the cabbage, the flavors. It's a small place with a simple menu but it packs a punch. I LOVE the Combo Plates with 2 choices of Short Ribs, Pork Chop, or Chicken. Delicious! The service is simple and friendly. Order and pay at the front desk and then take your seats. They will bring your order to you...

Ordered the oxtail pho to-go tonight and my tummy was left satisfied. For about $17, I received a generous amount of noodles and assorted meats that I was unable to finish in one sitting. The oxtail was so tender that it fell off the bone! I asked for extra hoisin sauce and siracha to go so I can dip my meats on the side for extra flavor. This is my favorite of the two Vietnamese restaurant in town! Definitely give Al pho a try if you haven't yet!
